Each player represents a truth that is trying to stay known in Dark Ages France. Write and copy books and get into as many monasteries as possible, because some of them are going to burn. Become the dominant truth in a region to score points.
Note: This game's publisher, Cheapass Games, publishes games assuming that you'll have some common game pieces lying around, so not everything is included. In order to play, this game requires 40 small, stackable tokens per player. These can be purchased separately.

The board is a large map, which can be difficult for some people to see clearly.
The board is made up of multiple panels that sit together on the table, so bumping one panel can knock the whole thing askew.
Players provide their own tokens to mark influence, so nothing needs to be colour-coded if that causes problems, but also you need 40 small, stackable pieces per player (for 3-6 players means 120-240 pieces), which not everybody has. If needed, we can supply these pieces at a reasonable price.
